However, he always had a true passion to help people. Dr. Nguyen decided to attend Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago at the where he can maximize his math and science skills in addition to engaging in patient care."

Prescriptions are refractive errors. Basically, your corneas bend light to project a focused image on your retina. However, if your corneas change shape, the image will be out of focus. Lenses will redirect light so that you will get a clear image. Unfortunately, there are additional parts of the visual system that might affect your vision. We first collect data from our Topcon 8800 to measure the shape of your corneas. Dr. Nguyen will extrapolate a second reading using the phoropter. We also measure your own prescription and gather data on your current visual acuity. Using a propriety algorithm, Dr. Nguyen calculates your final prescription based on your visual habits.

Unlike traditional lens designs, digital lenses can be customized to the shape of your eyes. With the complex shapes of the eyes, only digital, customized lens will eliminate abberations and optimize your visual acuity. Although traditional lens designs are available, we recommend the digital designs. The difference is like looking at analog TV versus high definition digital TV.

Autorefractors and autokeratometry measures accurate lengths and measurements necessary to calculate an accurate prescription. Topography maps the cornea to detail any defects or warpage. Optical Coherent Tomography will scan underneath tissue to see beyond what is visible. Meibography can detail your glands to treat Dry Eyes.
